Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

JANUARY 2007 MARTLESHAM BRASS PUBLICITY REPORT

Martlesham Brass benefits from BT Community Champions award

Martlesham Brass have received a BT Community Champions award of £150 to help with the costs of a workshop involving Tempus Brass, held in celebration of the bandâs 10th Birthday on 30th September 2006. The band is very grateful for the recognition and support that BT has given to Martlesham Brass over the last ten years.

Martlesham Brass Christmas Carolling and Charity Fundraising

Martlesham Brass Band would like to thank all those people who gave so generously to our Christmas collections. The money raised at Christmas ensures that Martlesham Brass can continue in its aim to fund instruments, music and musical activities such as workshops for all players who join the band and to carry on âMaking music fun in East Angliaâ. As well as appearing on Radio Suffolkâs âDial a Carolâ with Nick Pandolfi on the 9th and 21st December, members from all sections of the band played Christmas Carols outside supermarkets and in local streets and collected money to raise funds. A third of all funds raised over the Christmas period are being donated to three other local charities, which were nominated by band members. As a result of the bandâs hard work, and the generosity of the public, the following charities: East Anglian Air Ambulance, Ipswich Hospital Special Care Baby Unit and the St Elizabeth Hospice will each receive £368.40. The three charities will be invited to send representatives to the Band AGM to be presented with cheques. Collections took place around the East Suffolk area throughout December and the final total including proceeds from our sell-out Christmas concert is a record £3315.59.

Martlesham Brass AGM

Martlesham Brass is holding its AGM on Friday 2 February 2006 at 7.30pm. The meeting will include the election of committee members and officers.
