Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Martlesham Brass Monthly Publicity Report â" November 2006

Martlesham Brass would like to thank all the people who came from near and far to our 10th Birthday Concert on 30 September at the Kesgrave Community Centre. It was a wonderful night of traditional and modern music and, as well as old favourites such as Barnard Castle and a unique performance of Brass Band Boogie, the concert also featured the debut performance of two pieces of music composed by band members in celebration of the bands 10th Birthday: Mediterranean Holiday by Paul Benyon and With Thanks by Adam Cable and Robert Beale.

The concert also featured the marvellous music of Tempus Brass, a quintet based in Manchester, whose cornet player Adrian Robinson is one of the founder members of Martlesham Brass. The quintet led a workshop for all sections of Martlesham Brass during the day in preparation for the evening concert and four members of the quintet conducted the massed band in its rendition of Four Solos.

Presentations of the following annual awards were made at the Birthday Concert to band players in recognition of progress and achievement:

Most Improved Beginner 2006 Winner Emily Rouse
Most Improved Beginner 2006 Runner Up Chloe Farrington
