Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

7th October, 2009 - Martlesham Brass Celebrate

Martlesham Brass recently celebrated their 13th Birthday with a concert featuring music from all four sections of the band, and awards to their most improved players. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Bandsperson of the Year shield to their oldest player and President, Bill Bell age 96 (see attached photo). Adam Cable, conductor of the Main Band, presented the award and spoke of Bills enthusiasm, dedication and good humour as well as his contribution to the life of the band. He described Bill as an all round musician who provides a wonderful example to all the other band members.

Martlesham Brass has grown from an original group of 26 players in 1996, to a current membership of 101, with ages ranging from 6 to 96. They are led by team of dedicated bandleaders and assistants who help to provide a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere where anyone can learn to play a brass instrument.
