Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Events for 2008

As you can see from the events list the band are going to be pretty busy again this year, however we don't like all work and no play so your fundraising committee are already busying themselves arranging fun events for you as well!

We are kicking off with our infamous Beetle Drive on Saturday 1st March. Get your tickets now! The venue is St Michaels Church, Martlesham Heath, Time 7.15pm for 7.30pm start, tickets will be £2.50 each and this will include a light supper. Please bring your own drinks.

We are also looking at a possible alternative talents evening on Saturday 19th April, please let Jayne know ([email protected]) if you are likely to be interested in performing, we can then arrange a venue etc.

Plans are also in motion for our grand summer fayre, this year it is to be held on Saturday 14th June, please make a note in your diaries.

If you are interested in joining the fundraising committee you would be made most welcome. We meet very informally every 4-6 weeks just for an hour or so. Please contact Jayne (see above) for further information.

Flugel Horn Position in Intermediates

A space is currently available in the Intermediate Band for a flugel horn player. If you would like to apply for this seat, please speak to your bandleader.

AGM, 22nd February, 7:30pm

This year, our AGM will be held on Friday 22nd February at 7:30pm after Beginner, Preliminary and Intermediate practices.

All committee positions are available for nomination, and we ask that you consider the posts that are available â" weâre always looking for new people to be involved!

If you would like to apply for a position, please return nomination forms by 8th February.

The band trailer requires an urgent new home. It contains the bands music, stands, drum kit and percussion, and is required at every Friday night practice. If you are willing to home the trailer, and bring it along every week, please see a bandleader or member of the committee.

Wednesday Practices

Dont forget that we also have a Wednesday practice each week
They are held at Beacon Hill Primary School from 7 until 8:30pm.
