7th June, 2019 - June Newsletter
Due to the predicted high winds for tomorrow the Kirton PCC Fete will now be held at the Kirton Church Hall. Parking on the Village Green, not at the Hall please.
On the 21st of June, practice will be finishing at 7:30 instead of 7:45, as the Main Band have a concert in Felixstowe.
Throughout July Inters will meet in the Church and Prelims in the Scout Hut.
Birthday Concert - Space Theme
We will be having a Space-themed concert on the 28th of September to celebrate 50 years since the Moon landing. If you have any ideas for music, please let your Bandleader know.
Band subs - gift aid
If you are a tax payer, and are currently not registered for gift aid for band subs, please speak to Chris Howard. We can claim an extra 25% and it will not cost you any extra.
If you were the recipient of a Shield at our last Birthday Concert, please can you return it before our summer break.
Our last practice before our summer break with be the 26th of July. We will return on the 6th of September.
Sponsored Walk - 15th June - 'Trailer Trail'
Please put this date in your diary as we hope to get as many band members and their families taking part in this event.
Between 11am - 1pm groups of walkers will be dispatched from the Runway café (next to the church) to walk various pre-mapped out routes around Martlesham, the longest being 6 miles.
Shorter routes will be available for smaller/older legs. All we ask is that either you get sponsorship per mile OR pay a £5 entry fee.
Sponsorship forms are now available.
When you return, the Runway café will be open (they are opening especially for us until 4pm) for a nice cuppa and a well-deserved piece of cake!
We desperately need a new trailer for the band and all our fundraising efforts this year are focused on raising the money for one. We hope to attract as many people as possible to meet our goal, please support this event.
