Making music fun in east anglia
Newsletter
Back14th July, 2006 - July Newsletter
Voluntary organizations work when everyone helps to run them.
You can help by getting to practice before start time.
Beginners, Preliminaries and Intermediates all start at 18:45 on Fridays.
You need to be there as near to 18:30 as possible to help set up chairs, stands, distribute music folders and carry drums in.
Parents if you can help with refreshments occasionally please talk to Adam/Bruce. You would need to be there about 19:35.
At the end of practice you need to put your instrument and music away and allow the Main Band to get set up.
Main Band you need to be ready to play at 20:00. This means ensuring you are warmed up, have your music, mute and anything else you need to play for one and a half hours.
At the end of practice please ensure you help completely clear the band away â" running for your car and expecting another volunteer to put your stuff away is not acceptable.
If we all try hard to attend in plenty of time and help to set up and clear away, we will improve in our music making and everyone will enjoy it more. If you have any ideas that will help, please talk to me.

9th September 2006
Unfortunately the last treasure hunt was postponed due to lack of interest but we are not defeated and are giving you another opportunity to take part in September! Please support this event, it will be great fun. The event will take place in the late afternoon (time to be confirmed) and will start at the church car park. Entry is £5 per car with a chance to win a £10 prize. If you require any further details please contact Jayne on [email protected].
Birthday Party and Concert
Saturday 16th and 30th September
It has been calculated that there have been over 250 Martlesham Brass members since its inception 10 years ago! And we would like to invite them all to our birthday party and/or concert. If you know (and still keep in touch with) any past members can you please extend an invitation to them for both these events and ask them to RSVP to Jayne at [email protected] It will be great to get as many past members to these events as possible but it is a huge task and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Webb Ivory
As you may know John and Tricia Robinson have spent years sorting out our Christmas cards and paper orders from Webb Ivory. They are now taking a well deserved rest and we are looking for a new volunteer to co-ordinate receiving and distributing orders. In the past this fundraising catalogue has raised over £200 for band funds. If you feel you can help please email Jayne at [email protected] for more details.
